” While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Summer and winter, and day and night Shall not cease.”
Genesis 8:22
The beautiful colors of fall have set in around us here in the Pacific Northwest and reminds us to look to the immutability of God. While the days get shorter and cool air sets in we are reminded that God is the same, yesterday, today and forever. What a joy it is to serve the God of Abraham, Issaac and Jacob. The same God who formed the nation of Israel now bringing together His church to be salt and light to the World.
The month of October started with two weekends at home allowing us to catch up from the busy month of September and prepare for 13 days away in the Mid-West. October 9th, Kathleen and I celebrated our 12th anniversary. What a joy it was to be home for the weekend and to spend the time with those we love here in Kennewick. Call us strange but as often as we can we like to spend our anniversaries with some of our best friends. Jared and Sherry have been a huge blessing and encouragement in our lives as we seek to follow the Lord in this way. Even a simple evening of dinner and dessert with friends brings great encouragement.

It was great to be back in Wisconsin! We had an evening to catch up with a few family members and a weekend of laughter with the people of Calvary Baptist Church of Wisconsin Rapids. To those who made us laugh, gave us hugs and fed us (physically and spiritually) THANK YOU!
It was also a great treat to have visitors from Berea Baptist Church and Brookridge join in for the Sunday Evening service. These three churches have all made a huge impact on our lives and ministry. While this weekend went too fast it was packed with many wonderful blessings!
One of the highlights to deputation is being able to be back at Faith Baptist Bible College and being part of the Global Reach Conference. Dr. Mark Lounsbrough was very influential my Jr. and Sr. years at FBBC, and it is a joy to see how God continues to grow the mission’s program on campus. We were blessed in speaking with many students on campus, connecting with staff and sharing our burden for the people of Paraguay, South America. This year I was able to share a ministry highlight with the students during their Thursday banquet. We pray it is an encouragement for students as they seek the Lord’s leading in their lives.

I do want to thank Andy Stearns, Dr. Tim Little and Charlie Carter of the Thinklings Podcast for taking time to meet with us. A quick cup of coffee with a group of friends is a wonderful treat. It is even better when you leave the office with a couple books in hand, a list of books to order, and greatly encouraged in our walk with the Lord.

Wrapping up our time in Iowa we were blessed to be back at Anchor Baptist Church of Des Moines, IA. It has been a joy to connect with Anchor over the last couple years. We are excited for what God is doing among this local body and continue to pray for them and their opportunity to serve the people of Des Moines.
To say we were ready to be home with our kids was an understatement. It was nice to be away, just Kathleen and I, for a few days as we ramp up for language school. We know that changes are coming and had some great opportunities to talk through several details and plans for what lies ahead.
KIDS CORNER:
Jedidiah has been such a blessing to have on the journey with us. Before we left for the Mid-West, Jedidiah and I talked about him being the man of the house while I was away. He was going to have to step up and help out around the house a little bit.
We are so thankful to have Jedidiah on our team. It has been a great joy to watch him learn and grow into a young man. God has big plans for this missionary!
Revelation 22:7 “And Behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is he who heeds the word of the prophecy of this book.”

Prayer Requests:
- Please pray as we wrap up this portion of deputation with two weeks in Boise, ID.
- Pray that we can sell our Chevy Tahoe and purchase a trailer to pull our things to Texas. We posted our Tahoe for sale a few weeks ago and have not had any real responses.
- Pray as we continue to make plans for language school. We are really excited about this next step, but there are many details to be worked out along the way.
Let’s go to Paraguay!
The Loucks Family

Such an encouraging letter! I totally agree that Jed is growing beautifully into a missions minded servant. He has such a tender, kind heart and always brings my heart joy upon seeing him. Loved the pic of you all but who’s the quack next to you? 😋
